Each girl begins to experience these changes at different ages and although the most frequent age is about 9 or 10 years old, each girl is a world and not all the changes arrive at once. A good starting point to determine the beginning of development is usually the first menstruation.
However, there are many girls who begin to experience some of these changes long before starting their development as is the case of breast growth that in addition to being linked to hormonal development also depend on the constitution and genetics.
There is no specific age to start wearing cute girls bra, however, there are signs that are observed during this period that can help both parents and girls to take the first step to choose the first bra.
"The first bra for a teenage girl - explains Dr. Elisa Fernández - means the first step from girl to woman, it is not just a piece of clothing but represents the beginning of a new stage in her life, in general, it is quite accepted and it is accompanied by a certain mental maturity.
During this stage, adolescents begin to be aware of their body and begin to worry about their physical appearance, choosing the right bra is an important first step in the promotion of a healthy self-image and a development of self-confidence of a teenager.
Dr. Elisa Fernández gives a series of guidelines when choosing the first women bra. "Preferably it should be made of cotton, with a soft touch, and without seams, nowadays there is a great variety of models and types of bras to cover the different needs of each adolescent", emphasizes the doctor.
The cotton bralette, also known as the classic top, is perhaps the model chosen by girls as it provides support and also hides the breasts that begin to show under the clothes. Another option would be a cotton camisole, used as a transition model when they are not yet ready to wear a bra. The sports bras are another of the most chosen options given the need for support when playing sports. As the last option is the bra with a rim, usually chosen by girls who are more aware of their development and who care more about their body image, although this type of bra can have its contrast at such an early age, it is perfect for those girls who have had a more premature development.
"It is very important that you choose the appropriate bra size to avoid becoming a discomfort for the girl, do not forget that the goal of a bra is, first of all, that young adolescents are getting used to one more garment for dress every day and keep the breasts held and thus take care of the health of the chest” warns doctor Elisa Fernández.
"During development, there are some girls who have more qualms and are shyer in relation to the growth of the chest and tend to hide the chest throwing forward the shoulders ." That position, Dr. Elisa warns, "can influence the development of the body causing kyphosis problems that will accompany him throughout his life." The doctor advises using the bra with the conventional one on top, to act as a posture corrector and avoid future spinal problems.
